This month's working party at Westonbirt set to clearing the apicular growth from the Lime trees on Lime Avenue. Apicular growth is the shoots that sprout from the base of the trunk, or sometimes part way up. This needs to be removed to prevent the tree going shrubby and losing its shape. Another interesting, productive, and enjoyable morning.
